Whatchu looking for?

I totally had a good Christmas. After 8 years of hosting peeps, loving on them and laughing with them, i finally got invited to get out of town and ate myself silly. Some serious goat. Walala... i'm not sure i've recovered yet. Been dreaming of hitting the gym or a serious diet to pacify my guilty conscience.
Anyhow, just thinking about how funny it is to tottally miss what you are looking for because of what you are looking at.
The truth is, your life is waiting to start when you start making choices to start it.
Not when circumstances allow it.
You see living your dream is just that, Living a dream. Something unreal.
It means it's something not existing in your current life setup. You are simply taking something unreal, and bringing it into your real world.
Interesting huh?
So, what makes you think you are gonna have to do some pretty mundane things to live a dream?
I mean, comeon! if you want to live a life that's totally unlike the textbook Kenyan life, what makes you think it's gonna happen with you following all the rules?
I'm i advocating for reckless living? not really, at least not in that sense of the word... I'm more like saying,
If you want difference in your life, then take charge of that Change!
See, insanity is doing the same things, expecting different results. I'm sure you know that....
Usually, textbooks are for stuff that's been discovered. Been there done that. Someone tried it and it worked, and now they are telling you all about it.
I'm more of the guy that says, hey! Can we try this new approach here?
Someone asks, But that's not proven
I say, That's why i'm gonna try it. To prove it.
Have i failed? Yes
Have i been scared? Yes
Have i Doubted myself Yes
But then again,
Has it worked? Sometimes...
And trust me, the joy of seeing it work has waaaaaay superceded any failure or pain or doubts in my life.
Satisfaction has come from knowing that my hunch was right. And i was man enough to attempt something that i had a desire to do.
Rather than live with the lingering question, what if i had done it.
Like Moving out of home
Starting that business
Getting into a serious relationship or getting married
Resigning that Job
Buying that property
The list is endless..... Things we are all looking for, but not willing to risk it.
Hapiness comes from knowing what you need to do, and doing it, then sitting back and watching the results of things you've accomplished.
If you have things you've dreamt and desired of doing, why not start the year actually doing them?
It won't hurt. Ok, at least not for that long!

Love you!
Have a good start 2011
