Transitioning!

Isn't it amazing how you can be looking at your life and be content about what it is until you have to ask someone to fill in your shoes? Well, that's been my musing for the last couple of months. Thinking about raising others and turning over to them the ministry has been very insightful into my own life. The way i do things, speak, entrust, empower and even relate has come to the fore as we pray and believe God for pastors to be raised in our church and for other churches. Turning over a church can be a scary experience! Yet a very rewarding one. First, it helps you see your life through another's eyes. It causes you to believe in others just like you believe in yourself, and allows you to become generous. In praise and Money as well! But seeing other people plug in and take up the leadership of the church is ultimately humbling, as it reveals our humanity and how God uses broken people to minister an unbroken gospel to a broken world. When we think we are perfect, Go...

Hey ya'll, I got an interesting excerpt from Steve that i thought would be great if i shared with you all. I got a wedding to go to kesho, so... it's fun all the way! Be Blessed! At the top it read: William Borden , 1887-1913. What makes Borden so interesting is that he was a Yale graduate, and the heir to great wealth. Yet he rejected a life of ease in order to help bring the gospel to Egypt . He gave away hundreds of thousands of dollars to missions, and after only four months of ministry in Egypt , contracted spinal meningitis and died at age twenty-five. At the bottom of William Borden’s tombstone is the powerful littl...

Growing Family

Alexa is 2 and 8months now! She is incredibly intelligent and quick of grasp. Well with that is the usual annoying family feud style questions: We asked 100 hundred people... Why? How? When? which? blah blah blah... We were laughing with Evy the other day coz she is speaking very little English now. Well the reason is that the house help and Jane (My sister) speak to her in Swahili or Sheng (Slang)! Now we are making a rule that she is spoken to in English! But really thinking about it, isn't it interesting that our environment tends to dictate our language? Which brings me to, What have you been saying lately? What words are proceeding from your mouth? Are they full of love, life, grace, hope, faith and the word of God? Or are they full of fear, doubt, anger, low self esteem, pain and failure? If you find yourself in the second category, you might want to check your environment. It could be influencing you to speak that way! TV, friends, radio, magazines, and even your thoughts...

Been Away

Hey, I'm back. Been away for sometime, but all is well.  God's grace is such a tremendous gift to us. When we are in need, His grace supplies us what we need. It helps quiet the storms inside us,  It brings us peace when we are hurting, and makes us confident in the face of adversity. The most amazing thing about it is;  All we have to do to receive his grace; Is ASK Simply ask. Jesus said in Matthew 7- 'Ask, and it shall be given unto you' When we ask, God is waiting to supply his mighty favor and lavish on us the riches of heaven So we can experience his blessings Do you need God's grace today? What are you gonna do about it?
